What if I can't attend one of the WSQ course days? Can I do a make-up session?

Our courses are designed to be attended in sequence, as the final day includes an assessment.
Example: For the 6, 7, 13 Sep 2025 course:

If you miss 6 Sep (first session), you’ll need to join a future run where you can attend all sessions in order.

If you miss 7 Sep (middle session), you cannot proceed with 13 Sep; the course must be taken in order. you have to make up 2nd & 3rd days in the 2nd & 3rd days from the next course.

If you miss 13 Sep (final session), you may attend a make-up in another run that matches the final session (e.g., 10 Oct for the 6, 8, 10 Oct run).

You may also choose a run where you can attend all sessions without needing make-ups.

Kindly note that any replacement class has to be completed within 60 days of the course commencement.
Are WSQ courses refundable?

All outstanding payments must be cleared before withdrawal.

Withdrawals must be emailed to info@noblemaninstitute.com with a completed Withdrawal Form.

Refund amount (Based on Withdrawal Form submission date):

$50 registration fee is non-refundable.

Can I postpone my WSQ course start date one day before class commencement?

As per our policy, course deferment is not allowed.

Please note that materials and resources are prepared in advance, so last-minute changes are not encouraged. We kindly ask that you make every effort to attend your scheduled course. If you're unable to attend due to a valid reason, please inform us as early as possible so we can review your situation.

However, in exceptional cases such as medical emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, we may allow you to join the next available course run, at our discretion.
Is there any penalty if I do not attend all the class lessons for WSQ courses?

Student must meet at least 75% attendance rate as well as passing the assessment; failing which the student or employer is liable to the forfeiture of the subsidy/grant and bear the full course fee.

Flowers for All Occasions & Fantasia Flowers for Various Occasions (24 hours total): The last 4 hours are allocated for assessment. Learners must therefore achieve at least 15 hours of attendance out of the remaining 20 hours of training.

Be a Professional Event Florist (32 hours total): The last 4 hours are allocated for assessment. Learners must therefore achieve at least 21 hours of attendance out of the remaining 28 hours of training.
Do I receive a certificate after the course?

WSQ e-Certificate (Statement of Attainment, SOA) will be issued by SSG (downloadable via the MySkillsFuture portal) upon passing the final day’s assessment and meeting the minimum attendance requirement of 75%.

Flowers for All Occasions & Fantasia Flowers for Various Occasions (24 hours total): The last 4 hours are allocated for assessment. Learners must therefore achieve at least 15 hours of attendance out of the remaining 20 hours of training.

Is the WSQ cert recognised?

WSQ courses offered by Nobleman Institute of Floral Design (NIFD) are nationally recognised as the WSQ certifications are issued by SkillsFuture Singapore (downloadable via the MySkillsFuture portal), based on competencies validated by employers and industry bodies.
What are the differences between the WSQ courses?

Flowers For All Occasions (Beginner friendly)
WSQ Skill Level: Level 2
Focus: Basic floral designs for everyday and special occasions
Skills Covered: Vase arrangements, table centrepieces, bouquets, and wiring techniques

Fantasia Flowers for Various Occasions (Beginner friendly)
WSQ Skill Level: Level 3
Focus: Creative and artistic floral designs
Skills Covered: Foliage design, table centrepieces, leaf manipulation, and composite bouquets

Be a Professional Event Florist
WSQ Skill Level: Level 4
Focus: Advanced event floral design for weddings and corporate events
Skills Covered: Event door gifts, two table centrepieces, one bouquet, wedding arch, and flower cloud installation
Prerequisites: Must have completed our WSQ/in house courses or have equivalent prior floral training
Must the courses Flowers For All Occasions, Fantasia Flowers for Various Occasions, and Be a Professional Event Florist be taken in sequence?

No, the courses do not need to be taken in sequence.

If you have no prior floristry experience, you may choose either Flowers For All Occasions or Fantasia Flowers for Various Occasions to begin with.

For a more structured learning path, we suggest Flowers For All Occasions → Fantasia Flowers for Various Occasions → Be a Professional Event Florist.

If you already have experience or have completed a floral course before, you may start with any of the three directly.
Is there any pre-requisite in the enrolment of the WSQ courses?

All participants should be able to understand and communicate in basic English, as this is necessary for following instructions and completing the oral assessment.

For “Be a Professional Event Florist” course, pre-requisite: Completion of Flowers For All Occasion and/or Fantasia Flowers for Various Occasions, or equivalent prior floral training/experience.
Is there any examination for the WSQ courses?

Yes, all WSQ courses include an assessment. The assessment consists of:

Practical Component: Participants create floral arrangements based on the skills taught.

Oral Component: Participants explain their design choices and demonstrate understanding of techniques.
What is the class size for WSQ courses?

Class size shall be kept at a maximum of 20 students, with a minimum of 4 students to enable a class commencement.
What is the course structure like?

The course comprises both theory and practical lessons.

Lessons are conducted in a class-group setting to encourage learning and interaction.

The mode of instruction is in English.
-
Students will observe demonstrations and then have hands-on practice to create their own designs.

Participants can bring home their completed arrangements.
Are there any course notes provided?

Yes, a learner guide will be provided to all participants. Students are also encouraged to take an active role in making their own notes to enhance learning and retention.
What’s included in the course fees? Are there any extra charges?

All flowers and materials are included in the course fees, and you’ll get to bring home the arrangements you create. The only additional cost is a one-time registration fee for first-time students.
Are tools provided for the course?

Floral scissors and aprons are available for loan or purchase if needed.
Is the venue cold?

We would advise you to bring one jacket, just in case it gets cold.

Which courses can I claim my SkillsFuture Credits?

Can I make use of the Mid-Career SFC?

The Mid-Career Credit is not applicable for our WSQ courses. Only the SkillsFuture Credit (Opening Credit) and the one-off SkillsFuture Credit Top-Up can be used. However, WSQ courses are already supported with government subsidies of 50% or 70%, depending on your age and citizenship.
What are the funding incentives available for the WSQ courses?

WSQ Courses come with government’s funding of 50% or 70% (depending on age & citizenship). Balance payable can be claimed using SkillsFuture Credit (SFC), if it’s from your Opening Credit or One-off Top-up (Mid-Career SFC Top-up not accepted).
How do I make a SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) claim for WSQ courses?

Here’s a step-by-step guide with an example:
Example course: Fantasia Flowers for Various Occasions
Course fee: $1,080
Subsidy for a 50-year-old student: 70%
Payable amount after subsidy: $324
Here’s what you need to do:

Inform us that you would like to use SFC for payment and balance credits left available. We will issue you an invoice for submission.

Go to the SkillsFuture Portal: https://www.myskillsfuture.gov.sg

Log in with your SingPass → Select “Submit SkillsFuture Credit Claims.” → Search for the course/module code → Upload the invoice we provided.

Enter claim amount: $324 (after subsidy) OR The maximum amount available in your SFC balance (if less than $324)

Enter Fee payable by you (Invoice amount): $324 (Amount after government grant) → Submit your claim.

Send us a screenshot of your Claim ID after submission.
Note that you can only submit your SFC claim within 60 days before the course start date. Please ensure your claim is submitted at least 2 months before course commencement for smooth processing. We will guide you through the claim process after you register the course with us.

Is there a delivery fee?
Yes, we charge at a flat rate of $13. Currently we only offer local delivery.
What is the delivery lead time?
Upon order confirmation, delivery of the item(s) will be completed within 3 working days. Currently, we do not offer overseas delivery.
